All the colours of the rainbow

This summer I was commissioned to design and produce eight dresses for a primary school play. The seven rainbow coloured dresses were for the seven 'saloon' girls, and the floral number for the 'dame'. I was restricted to a really tight time schedule, but managed to finish all eight over three days, ready for the performance.

On the Street: Miami

It's true, everyone in Miami is so well dressed! And not necessarily typically 'well' dressed either. I saw so many unusual takes on the grunge, modernism and colour blocking Spring/Summer 2009 trends whilst there in August this year. These are two shots I managed to snap from across the street.

Studio Time

Creating the pattern for a fitted dress, then modifying it to become a strapless evening bodice. This was taken in the fashion studio last week.

Vicious

My GCSE textiles outfit themed "Punk", created from adapted pattern blocks. It features typical 'punk' tartan fabric as well as a transfer of Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols on the back of the jacket.

These photos were taken at my annual school fashion show in 2007.

The Beginning

Let's start with where my blog header inspiration came from. It's a picture I shot from the front row of the trend show at London Fashion Weekend, earlier this year in March.










With a range of designer's work being featured, including the likes of Matthew Williamson, Julien Mcdonald, accessories by Johnny loves Rosies and even shoes by Terry de Havilland, it was a great opportunity to be experiencing from the front row.
