Icicle Icicle

I arrived back at my house today to find some crazily deep snow..and some amazing icicles! I've never seen real icicles like this before in England. I think they're fascinating, such pretty things to be created just from frozen water.

American Life

Researching into some West Coast positioned internships this week reminded me of my road trip around California a few years ago. We started in Nevada and did a night in Vegas; possibly the most surreal night of my life..our hotel had a rollercoaster in it. We then went down to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon, and then into California to do Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Carmel, Redondo Bay, Hollywood, LA & Anaheim. Amazing scenery, beautiful sunshine and some great photo opportunities.

Flying over the Grand Canyon

Yosemite National Park

San Francisco Harbour

The Hollywood Hills

On the last day of our trip we visited Redondo Bay, where some of the OC was filmed. We saw the Bait Shop, the pier and the café!

Wish You Were Here

I had planned to share some of my fashion sketches today that I've been working on for my Digital Design module. Using a software that's new to me - Lectra - I've been learning to use both Kaledo Print & Kaledo Style over the last 10 weeks.
Our brief was to create a collection with three different garments, three different prints and three colourways for each print, along with a colour palette and supporting research. I managed to finish my collection today, complete with prints and illustrations for the garments..but unfortunately the computer decided it would be a perfect time to delete the entire file I was working on and all its back-up files just as I was getting ready to print.

So instead, this is a photo I took on holiday this year in Florida. My friend told me she thought it was actually a postcard! Wish you were here?

Femme avec Ombrelle (deux)

Again, a photo taken several years ago in Cahors, France, with a terrible camera. Something about the movement in the shot attracted my attention though.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Alice

SLOTH

GREED

LUST

VANITY

GLUTTONY

ENVY

WRATH

My photography brief last year was 'Your own original take on the Seven Deadly Sins'. Alice in Wonderland is my favourite story, so I combined the two together. I think the Envy shot is my favourite.

Might as well jump!

Some dance photography shots I took on a day out at the beach with some of the members of my county dance troupe - HYDC:InPulse, in September 2008. To see an example of work by our dance troupe click here.

On the Street: Miami

It's true, everyone in Miami is so well dressed! And not necessarily typically 'well' dressed either. I saw so many unusual takes on the grunge, modernism and colour blocking Spring/Summer 2009 trends whilst there in August this year. These are two shots I managed to snap from across the street.

Femme Avec Ombrelle

Shoot for an amateur photography competition, before I had any kind of decent camera...these were taken on a very basic digital compact with a very low image quality!
